Shamir Optical Industry Ltd. (Nasdaq: SHMR) (“Shamir Optical”), Kibbutz Shamir and Essilor International (NYSE Euronext: EI) (“Essilor”) today announced the successful acquisition of 50% of Shamir Optical by Essilor, further to announcements of October 15, 2010.
